The teeth that rock above the cradle

These chromosomes look so much like teeth,
molars to be precise, pulled by some genetic dentist
using nano-forceps, arrayed in a row
for inspection, stained to show plaque,
progressively getting smaller, ground down by evolution.

Some even seem like Stone Age forceps.
Forceps give birth to babies whose bodies
and brains are this string of teeth
which might hang over the cradle
of a witchdoctor or a wisewoman.
