The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has developed and implemented an Institute-wide data sharing policy with a view to protecting the interests of research participants and the public more generally. I will describe some of the challenges involved and the solutions adopted, and I will discuss the work I have been focusing on during my visit to the Genomics Policy and Research Forum, especially current legal developments and their potential impact.
Speaker Stephanie Dyke works as Policy Adviser at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and she is visiting the Genomics Policy and Research Forum as part of the ESRC Bright Ideas Fellowship programme. Before joining the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in 2008, Stephanie worked for the Irish Council for Bioethics.
