Workshop   22.03.2013

Arno Steinacher (University of Exeter)

Steven Hill (The Netherlands Cancer Institute)

Sara Green (Aarhaus University)

Morning session Queen’s LT2

Afternoon session Harrison 207

Event details

Systems biology is often characterised by its interdisciplinary approach. This workshop brings together PhD’s and Postdocs from across Biosciences, Mathematics and, and EGENIS to explore what this means, what it requires from researchers, and the opportunities and challenges it presents. Sometimes systems biology projects require PhD's and postdocs to move beyond their primary area of expertise and engage with new methods and questions. Other times these projects require expertise that reinforce disciplinary specialisation. In this workshop, researchers from engineering, bioinformatics, and philosophy will address this theme by leading a series of interactive discussions and introductory methods sessions.
