Helen Middleton-Price, Director of the Nowgen Centre, A Centre for Genetics in Healthcare at The NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre, recently spent three months on a sabbatical working at the Louisiana Capital Assistance Center in New Orleans, which represents prisoners on Death Row in the southern states of the USA. Helen’s talk 'Tales from Death Row in Louisiana – DNA and innocence’ is about her experience, and includes observations on the criminal justice system in the USA, and on how advances in DNA technology are being used to reverse miscarriages of justice.
